| BOON: One of the most popular names in TV history! |

THE WOMEN
Saskia Wickham

Before "Boon" Saskia Wickham appeared in the TV Series 'Clarissa'. Alex Wilton star Saskia Wickham, has since appeared in 'Peak Practice' among other hit shows. More recently she appeared in 'Stig From The Dump' on BBC1. Her sassy sexy character 'Alex Wilton' in "Boon" won many men's hearts, and probably even women's as well, because of her tough 'I am no walkover' attitude! She showed many times in the series that she could be serious, funny, sexy, in charge, and also very caring. Each of her qualities shone through to the viewers in different situations. In "Blackballed", the episode in which Harry (David Daker) was accused of theft of Golf Club funds, Alex showed us that she could be very caring, in the way that she stood by Harry against all odds. The most memorable scene from the episode was when she turned up at the Club, to find Harry being insulted, and having bread rolls thrown at him.... Alex's "Leave it" and then her outburst at the club members really showed us what a real "woman" was!
Elizabeth Carling

1989 was the year that the beautiful Liz Carling graced us with her presence.... as the photo above (taken from "Border Cafe") will probably tell you. She was the lovely Northern Lass ("A Bat out of Hull" as Rocky called her), Laura Marsh. Her little-girl-lost nature was wonderful, and her constant pleading for more than just 'typing' in the office made the viewers feel sorry for her. She was perhaps the kind of girl that needed action to give her fulfilment in her life, and many thought of her as a naughty girl. Tamed for TV, I always imagined she was a secretly horny young girl, but never got the right opportunity to let it all out. Elizabeth Carling has since made a name in "Goodnight Sweetheart", "Border Café" and "Men Behaving Badly" (re-uniting with "Boon" co-star and ex love Neil Morrissey.)
THE MEN
Michael Elphick

Michael Elphick: Ken Boon.... From 1986, Michael made TV history as the one and only 'Ken Boon'.... what more can be said for the Cowboy/western mad Motorcycle Rider. A hero, a modern day 'Lone Ranger' as it was often said. After Boon, Michael was very under-rated in my opinion. Making his appearance as Harry Salter in "Harry" (1994) he did very little afterwards that could possibly compare to his role in Boon. He also starred in the adaption of Dickens novel "David Copperfield". But what probably brought him back into the public eye, and made people realise what an anchor he really was to British Television was his role as Harry Slater in BBC soap opera "EastEnders". Although it was a surprising storyline to be given to such a kind character and loveable actor, it really did show that Michael was capable of more than 'nice but tough-guy' roles.

Michael sadly passed away in September 2002 due to his heavy intake of alcohol. He will be sadly missed by his fans.
David Daker

David Daker played the naive Harry Crawford, and was the man that gave Boon its funny edge in certain places where they were needed. Since Boon, David is another good actor who has rarely been heard of, apart from his role in 'Resort To Murder' in which he was accused of murdering his wife. Also a few small appearences in series such as Paul Merton's sketch shows, "Heartbeat", "Casualty", "The Bill" etc. He remained the only character, apart from Michael, who sustained the entire run of "Boon".
Neil Morrissey

Neil arrived as dippy Rocky in 1987, series two of Boon. He was another character who gave the series its comedy side (too many people mistake Boon for a comedy) Rocky brought the show a light edge, but in some cases he could be a rather strong part to storylines, such as "Trial and Error" in Series 5 when he discovered photographs that would be the most important evidence in a court case. Since Boon, Neil has become somewhat of a TV icon, playing another dippy character, one half of the drunkard duo in "Men Behaving Badly", Tony Smart. He has also appeared in "The Vanishing Man", the Master Card adverts, "C.A.T.S Eyes", and hit movies such as "Staggered" and "Playing Away".
